Step-by-Step Guide to Apply for IEC Code

Before starting the application process, ensure you have the following documents ready:

  1. PAN Card of the individual or business entity.
  2. Identity Proof: Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Voter ID (for individuals).
  3. Address Proof: Electricity bill, Lease Agreement, Rent Deed, or Sale Deed (not older than three months).
  4. Bank Certificate or a Cancelled Cheque bearing the applicant’s name.
  5. Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) if the application is being made by a company or LLP.
  1. Visit the DGFT website: DGFT Portal
  2. Click on the “Register” option and fill in the required details to create a login ID and password.
  1. Log in to the DGFT portal using the credentials you created.
  2. Under the “Services” tab, select “IEC Profile Management” and click on “Apply for IEC”.
  1. Applicant Details: Fill in details like the applicant’s name, address, PAN, and date of birth/incorporation.
  2. Firm Details: Provide information about the business entity including business name, type of business, and contact details.
  3. Bank Account Details: Enter the bank account number, bank name, branch, and IFSC code.
  4. Document Upload: Upload the required documents (PAN, address proof, bank certificate/cancelled cheque, and digital signature if applicable).

  2. The payment can be made online via net banking, credit/debit card, or other available methods.
