An Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is a key business identification number mandatory for export from or import to India. It is issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to apply for an IEC Code.

Before starting the application process, ensure you have the following documents ready:

1. PAN Card of the individual or business entity.
2. Identity Proof: Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Voter ID (for individuals).
3. Address Proof: Electricity bill, Lease Agreement, Rent Deed, or Sale Deed (not older than three months).
4. Bank Certificate or a Cancelled Cheque bearing the applicant’s name.
5. Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) if the application is being made by a company or LLP.

2. Click on the “Register” option and fill in the required details to create a login ID and password.
